L N Welingkar Institute of Management Development and Research was found in 1977. It is affiliated with the Mumbai University. Accredited by NBA and approved by the All India Council of Technological Education (AICTE). It offers Management programmes in its Mumbai and Bangalore campuses. The programmes are full-time, part-time, executive, and distance learning.

The institute is ranked 84th by the NIRF 2024 under the Management category in India. In 2024, Outlook also ranked Welingkar Institute 17th under the ‘MBA (Private)’ category. WeSchool was awarded with ‘RMAI Corporate Excellence Award 2023’ in the ‘Rural Marketing Association of India (RMAI) Conclave, 2023’ in Delhi.The institute offers various Certificate and Postgraduate courses.
