Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University is a public university in Georgia that was initially established in 1917 with just one Faculty headed by the founder, Ivane Javakhishvili. The Faculty of Medicine was founded in 1919, but the program was stopped in 1930. The university resumed the medical doctor program in 1994 and received international accreditation in 2011. The goal of the MD program at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University is to promote the development of a healthy environment and improve the national health system.
