A public institution located in the historic city of Tyumen. Established in 1963, the university has evolved from a regional healthcare institution to a globally recognised institution for MBBS abroad aspirants seeking to engage in medical research and education. It offers a 6-year medical programme for all international students, including a 12-month clinical rotation at its affiliated healthcare institutions across the city. Operating under the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, Tyumen State Medical University has standardised education, adhering to the Federal State Educational Standards (FSES 3++).
In 2010, it obtained a GOST ISO 9001-2011 certification and, since then, has set up a QMS to continuously improve the quality of its processes, such as teaching, administrative facilities, and student services. In 2015, the university evolved from its initial designation as a “medical academy” in 1995 to a state university. Tyumen State Medical University has an extensive faculty and provides comprehensive clinical training through 24 teaching hospitals in the Tyumen region. About 50% of the teaching staff covering its 60 departments are employed across clinical departments, providing a robust learning experience for students planning to study MBBS in Russia. According to the rector’s announcement on the university’s social media account, it hosts over 1,000 international students from 40+ countries, also comprising many Indian students.
